Porsche has been making sports cars for quite a few years. They're a little different from most other sports cars, but they're acknowledged as being very nice cars. Porsche has long had a thing for air-cooled engines, probably because they're less complicated than water-cooled engines, as well as being lighter. Not all of their cars have been air-cooled, but until the latest model, all of their street 911's were. The newest one finally succumbed and went with water cooling. Porsche also enjoys putting the engine behind the rear wheels. In earlier Porsches, this had the often adverse effect of causing the rear end of the car to decide to lead the front end of the car through turns when pushed too hard. In more recent cars, Porsche has managed to develop suspension that would counteract this trait. One thing Porsche has managed to do is to keep the same basic body style, with minor modifications and updates, in use for more years than just about any other car maker, and that body style still looks good, and current. That is a huge accomplishment in my opinion. I just wish I could afford a 911 GT1. I have some more pictures of Porsches on my 1998 Visa Sports Car Championship page.
